The McHenry County Division of Transportation is conducting a preliminary engineering and environmental study that will consider safety improvements at the Queen Anne Road and IL 120/Greenwood Road intersections along Charles Road. The study area is located in the center of McHenry County in the Township of Greenwood. Several alternative solutions will be developed and evaluated for improved traffic control at the intersections of Queen Anne Road and IL 120/Greenwood Road. The Area

Charles Road is a two-lane undivided east-west roadway classified as a Principal Arterial. Within the study area, Charles Road is identified as a Strategic Regional Arterial (SRA), intended to carry a larger volume of traffic at higher speeds as a complement to the region’s expressway systems.
